When I was deployed to Iraq in 2004 or standing watch as a CBRN Officer in Kuwait in 2022, I always had a clear mission, a chain of command, and a platoon of Marines and Soldiers around me. But my wife, Tina? She was back home living out the real "Response-Ability." She was the one left behind to be both mom and dad, dealing with the sick kids, the bills, the household chaos, and keeping life moving while I was halfway across the world.
Our military families don't sign a contract with a recruiter, but they live out the highest form of responsibility there is: consistency, resilience, and steadiness when no one is watching.
But when a veteran comes home struggling with PTSD, depression, or a confusing mess of VA paperwork, that weight shifts to the home front. It can leave families feeling completely isolated, navigating a new kind of fog alone. That is exactly why we created this forum as a secure "inner circle" for the spouses, parents, siblings, and friends who take care of the ones who took care of our country.
